2019 Fall Field Trip

We will be heading to Hershel, SK for the Fall Field trip on Sept. 28th at 9am

Where: Ancient Echoes Hershel  www.ancientechoes.ca  (152 km, 1hour 45 minutes south west of Saskatoon)

When: Saturday, September 28

Travel details: Meet at 9:00 am at the Kensington Save-On-Foods parking lot. (126 Kensington Blvd.)

We will travel as a convoy to Ancient Echoes on HWY 7 to Rosetown where we turn North onto HWY 4 for about 10km before turning onto SK-31. If time permits, we may take Hwy 14 home and explore several sites such as the Bear Hills, an abandoned railway community at Keppel and Crawford’s Bookstore in Perdue.  As well we may visit Leney with its original grain elevator and nearby photographic homesteads.

Cost: Admission to Ancient Echoes is $15.00 for adults $12.00 for seniors. Please bring cash or cheque for admission. The committee has requested that a catered lunch be available at an additional minimal cost. More details regarding lunch will follow. 

Tour details: The tour of Ancient Echoes is guided and includes an indoor paleo-geology exhibit as well as outdoor activities where we will see beautiful landscapes, petroglyphs, a turtle effigy, ceremonial circles, and other Aboriginal sacred sites. Dress for hiking in the hills with sensible walking shoes.  Bring water with you.
